A churchplanter’s missional influence in the lives of those “least likely to go to church”.

Weekly Reflections

July 16th, 2009 Posted in Church at the Grove, Random Thoughts

Big Idea from Sunday:
Actions Speak, Words are Weak!

Scripture Memory:
Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Action Step:
Pray this prayer daily this week:  “Father, let my light shine before men in such a way that they may see my good works, and glorify my Father who is in heaven.”

Random Thoughts:

  • This has been a crazy week.  There is sometimes so much going on that everyone does not see.
  • We had  a great Sunday morning! Good crowd, great worship, great response.  We are having lots of guests each week.  That is why we need our Grovers there each and every Sunday!
  • I loved the Baptism in the park!  I love hanging out and eating “SKIP’S” great hotdogs and hamburgers!  It was a great time hanging out!
  • I am getting lots of questions about my P90x workout program.  That means I have to keep it up!  I just started week # 5.
  • We began ‘backyard Bible Club’ Sunday night in my neighborhood on Sunday night!  It was a blast.  I was so proud of our CATG students for investing into the life of the children in my neighborhood.  Great job telling Bible stories by John Parker and Kelsey Hardin.  Way to go ‘Sugar’ and ‘Biskit’!
  • We did backyard bible club through Tuesday night!  We had a blast with the kids in our neighborhood.  I have a vision of doing these in multiple neighborhoods in the future.
  • Last night (Wednesday) we had another great “United” service for our students at Loganville High School.  This has been a great summer with all the teenagers meeting together at the high school.  Afterwards the kids went bowling until midnight at Oasis bowl.  I now remember why I am not in youth ministry anymore:  SLEEP!
  • I like some things about summer, but from a pastor’s perspective, I am ready for summer to be OVER!  I miss seeing everybody every week!
  • Save the date for August 14!  We are having a huge vision night dinner.  “The Orchard” church is allowing us to use their building!  Please plan to be there!

See you Sunday!
