We are just over one week from celebrating Christmas. Here are a few ideas to save some money.
- Use pages from old magazines to wrap small gifts.
- Use the comic section from the Sunday paper to wrap larger gifts.
- Cut up old Christmas cards and make your own name tags.
- With the tough economic times, politely explain to the relatives that live so far away that you are choosing not to travel this year.
- Create a “thirty day rule” for buying larger items. When you get interested in a big ticket item such as a new television or a high priced piece of technology, simply wait for 30 days to make the purchase. This will help determine if you are really interested, help give you perspective, and give you time to shop the price.
Saving money during tough times is practical and it also gives you financial freedom for the purpose of fulfilling God’s mission for our lives.
Live frugally; give generously!
