I am behind on posting due to being out of routine in the summer.
Here are some thoughts and a recap of the weekend:
- Last week was awesome with our Student Mission week. Nathan did a great job putting opportunities together for our students to serve at the FISH ministries, the boys and girls club and in the Backyard Bible Club in our neighborhood. There were some great conversations and opportunities to minister as a result.
- We had dinner with an awesome couple Friday night. Josh and Rebekkah Holt prepared and incredible meal and we played Wii. Josh and Rebekkah have become a huge part of our church and they are preparing to go to the mission field this next year.
- Sunday morning was awesome! We concluded our “One Prayer” series with Craig Groeschel from LifeChurch.tv His one prayer was “God make us One!” It was incredible!
- The response to the video messages has been great. It maybe a little of a letdown when I speak this week.
- We served maybe the world’s fastest communion this past Sunday night. We had a Sunday night fellowship/baptism scheduled and had a great time eating until the lightning, thunder and rain hit. We served a fast communion and made everyone leave…….and then it quit raining and the lightning stopped. I would have thought that communion would make you immune to thunder and lightning but I guess not. We had a blast even though we were interrupted.
- Yesterday was a crazy day! I went to a court sentencing hearing early yesterday morning. The outcome was very sad. I went to spend some time with someone in a treatment center. It was encouraging. I went to a political meeting/reception…..nuff said. I finished the night hanging out at the Peach State Auto auction here in Loganville. I am enjoying hanging out there. It keeps me thinking and praying for people far from God. I will post more about it this next week.
The last couple of days have been busy but great. I am looking forward to what happens at the end of the summer! Join me in praying for something BIG!
