February is known to be the worst month for depression. The unending cold, lack of extended sunlight and lonliness connected to “Valentine’s Day” are a few of the reasons people struggle with depression in the month of February.
Those involved in education often find February a tough month because the academic workload is heavy and the end of the semester seems so far away.
We began “Starbuck Thursday’s” last year and it has become “Thankful Thursdays” this year. It is a “cafe” experience we (Church at the Grove) create for the teachers/staff at Youth Middle School each Thursday during the month of February that hopefully gives those in education a brief respite from the daily rigors of investing in the students of our community.
Church at the Grove exist to develop people who follow Jesus and Make Disciples. We seek to accomplish this through:
- Creating Environments where people can EXPLORE faith.
- Encourage Relationships where people can ENCOUNTER authentic relationships and community.
- Start Discussions that EXTEND the hope found in a personal relationship with Jesus.
Thankful Thursdays is a practical way to show God’s love and hopefully starts an ongoing discussion about the joy of exploring and knowing Jesus.
Thank you Church at the Grove and the numerous volunteers that make Thankful Thursdays a reality! Check out the pics and notice the happy faces!
