A churchplanter’s missional influence in the lives of those “least likely to go to church”.

Sunday Reflections and This week at CATG!

December 16th, 2009 Posted in Church at the Grove, Random Thoughts

Big Idea:
God became man for the purpose of redeeming the world!
How we view Jesus in the manger affects our understanding of Jesus’ work on the cross!

Scripture Memory:
Galatians 4:4-5 (ESV)
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

Action Step:
Read through the biblical Christmas story a minimum of 3 times between now and Christmas.  Take advantage of the Christmas season to talk to your children/family about how God became man for the purpose of redeeming the world.

Random Thoughts

  • What a great Sunday!  We are seeing God work in a serious and significant way!  We have seen 12 people in the last 2 Sundays turn to trust in Jesus!  God is answering our prayers.
  • Remember to focus on Jesus this Christmas season!  Santa is fun, but he can’t change eternity!
  • I love seeing so many guests coming and so many coming back after their first visit with us!
  • We have some great momentum right now!  Let’s leverage it for some explosive growth at Walnut Grove High School.
  • This coming Sunday is our last at Youth Middle School.  I am so thankful for the relationship we have with Youth Middle School.  It will continue even though we won’t be there on Sundays.
  • This Saturday is a huge opportunity for us to invest in homeless women and children of Atlanta.  Join us as we partner with Resurrecting Hope this Saturday at the Wal Mart next to Stone Mountain.
  • We will be moving some equipment from the high school this Sunday after the second service.  We could use some help in breaking down and moving the equipment.
  • Christmas Eve service at Walnut Grove High School 5pm.  You don’t want to miss it!  No childcare for Christmas Eve.  Bring the children into the service with you.
  • We will have Sunday morning service at Walnut Grove high school on Dec. 27 at 10am.  No children’s ministries that morning.  Bring your children into the service with you.
  • Things are going great with how God is moving, but our budget offerings have gone down that last 6 weeks.  Please continue to be faithful in your giving so we can continue the ministries that we have made commitments to as the end of the year approaches.  Times are tough and there are so many needs with people at this time of the year.
  • I love you guys and I am praying for God to continue working in a Big way!

Keep praying, Keep investing, keep inviting!
