Seven signs of financial bondage and other money stuff (part 1 of 2)
March 4th, 2008 Posted in Financial Freedom, Bible, Church at the GroveTwo Sundays ago Brian Peart did a great job sharing “the seven signs of financial bondage”with us at CATGrove. Here is a synopsis of what Brian shared:
The seven signs of Financial Bondage:
- When married couples argue over Finances. Proverbs 15:27
- Putting daily expenditures on charge cards due to lack of funds.
- Putting off paying a bill from one month to another. Proverbs 22:1
- Borrowing to pay fixed expenses. Proverbs 19:1
- Becoming unaware of how much you owe. Proverbs 27.23
- When you begin to entertain thoughts of dishonesty in finances. 1 Timothy 6:10
- When you find it difficult to tithe (percentage giving) . Malachi 3:8
You can find more info about these signs and how to deal with them at Brian’s website BiblicalPrinciplesinc.org
Many pastors, leaders and people connected to ministry find it very difficult to talk about money and finances. I have been one of them. There are a few reasons that I feel compelled to address it.
- God’s Word, the Bible speaks about money and our management of finances.
- God desires that we walk in financial freedom just as He desires that we walk in spiritual and moral freedom.
- The local church (Church at the Grove) is dependant upon obedient and generous giving. Generous giving is always going to be a result of financial freedom.
In tomorrow’s post, I will give some simple and practical insight in how to break free from Financial Bondage.
