Yesterday Governor Sonny Perdue, a follower of Jesus, called for people to pray for rain. See the article here. The state of Georgia and other neighboring states are in a serious drought that is threatening the water supply in the region.
I hear people share about our need for an awakening and revival in our nation and I join them in praying for God to move in an amazing way to reach people that are disconnected and to work in a way that will impact Christians to turn back to God. Is it possible that God may be using the drought, along with other means, to help us realize that we are completely dependent upon Him, thus bringing about a revival in our state and region?
Check out this post by Marty Duren and tell me what you think of his idea for calling down rain! You will get a kick out of it.

I glad Governor Perdue had a day of prayer. But I don’t know if you have seen the backlash in Washington over this. One congressman even mentioned him by name as he blasted Perdue’s actions. However, that is what makes us Americans….being able to disagree with no consequences.
