This weekend included:

  • A trip to New Orleans to hang out with a great group of church planters!  At the invitation of Dr. Jack Allen, the Nehemiah Church planting professor at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, I attended his first church planting forum with several other guys.  I was surprised to be the veteran planter among the group.  Aside from Dr. Jack and Regional Strategist Dr. Jeff, I was the oldest.  I am learning quick that in the church planting community, I must get used to being among the oldest.  Most of these guys had either planted recently, like this fall, or they are in the early stages of preparing to plant.  I was thankful for my time with all of these men, and I was impressed with their heart for God and for reaching people.
  • Homeless for the hurting:  CATGrove hosted over 20 students under Nathan Boyd’s, Katelyn Acuff’s, and Craig Story’s leadership to spend the night “homeless” in the parking lot of Youth Middle School.  The purpose was to bring attention to the plight of the homeless people in the metro area of Atlanta, to experience what homeless people endure, and to collect donations of coats, blankets, and warm clothing that will be distributed to shelters in the Atlanta area.  It was awesome and it made a huge impact on the students and the many who attended the Sunday gatherings at CATGrove yesterday.  Thanks to Nathan, Katelyn, and Craig and all the students who made this weekend happen.
  • Yesterday was a great day at CATGrove as we concluded our “RICH MAN POOR MAN” series by asking the question, “Are you a sheep or a goat?” based on Matthew 25:31-46
  • Yesterday and last night was great.  I was able to hang out and relax with the family.  Caleb and I stayed home together while the family attended a Christmas musical last night.  We played “cars”, wrestled, and watched some football.
  • Yesterday was a good day!
