Monday Discipleship Notes
October 6th, 2008 Posted in Random Thoughts, Church at the GroveSunday’s key thought: It is out of the goodness of God to be a Refuge for those in need.
God instituted Cities of Refuge in Joshua 20:1-3 and he elaborates on the nature of a Refuge in Psalm 91:1-4
Memory Verse:
Psalms 34:8 (NIV)
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Action Step: Do an act of kindness in a practical manner this week that demonstrates God’s goodness and his nature as a Refuge.
Random Thoughts:
- I have received multiple phone calls, emails, and text messages about how incredible yesterday’s Services were!
- Ric and the band were spot ON!
- I prayed as I prepared for the message this week that God would simply have His ANNOINTING on our services. What a Sunday!
- We had one of our highest offerings all year! WOW!
- I love it when we have to pull out chairs in one of our services. What a great crowd yesterday! One of our biggest crowds of the year!
- I love momentum. I hope we keep it going!
- I hope our people will take advantage of the momentum and continue inviting their friends.

Let me add my comments to the mix……
I felt the joy of the Lord in church so much yesterday. It seemed like I could not peel the smile off my face! I just wanted to give everything I could to God - my praise, worship, heart, love - you name it - he could have it! I am so thankful for God’s goodness to me - he has been faithful in every way. The more I wanted to give to Him yesterday, I kept sensing Him pouring it back out in my heart! That’s how GOOD GOD IS!!!!! Here’s the kicker….even my kids commented on how great churh was. They’ve been singing songs that were sung in church yesterday and we started reading a book called “Hittite Warrior” and it speaks of a man going to a “city of refuge” - Olivia remembered and commented on your teaching. We’re lovin every minute of it!!!!

Amy, I couldn’t agree with you more!!
I really felt the presence of the Holy Spirit yesterday. I was so happy to just be there. The Lord has done wonderful things with our church and it is my prayer that He continues to guide our church leadership in His will so that the blessings of the gospel will continue to be shared. We have, by the grace of God, outstanding leadership in our church!!
p.s. and Craig Calhoun not half-bad either:)

Amen! The Lord was definitely “at the Grove” during Sunday’s service. If you missed it … bring on your worship, you just get the feeling there’s more on the way. The evening fellowship at Community Group was also such a sweet blessing. GOD IS GOOD!
