Times of uncertainty like we are currently living in are great times for personal growth and evaluation. During tough economic times, all employers will have to consider who in their business is indispensable. Who has added value to this company or business in such a way that we simply cannot move forward without them?
I will do a short series of post regarding ways to make ourselves indispensable to the organizations we are a part of. How can I become so valuable that I am completely secure in my present employment. These principles we will look at cross over into every facet of life and are principles that come right out of God’s Word.
These five laws come from a book titled The Go-Giver. It is a parable about adding value to others as a way of achieving success for yourself. It was recently given to me as a gift from my friend Casey Graham of ReThink Money.
It is based on five “laws” or principles and over the next week I will look at each one individually and discuss how practical each principle applies to our lives as followers of Jesus. If we apply these “laws” to our life in the workplace, it is quite possible that we will make ourselves indispensable to our company or employer. When layoffs begin and cutbacks take place, most leaders will make their decisions based on added value to the organization.
