I will never forget standing in the cafeteria at Kennesaw Mountain High School during a character education breakfast and Pastor Mike Linch walking into the high school to tell us that planes had hit one of the Twin Towers.

I spent most of the morning in one of the classrooms with a group of students watching the events on the television in the classroom.  It sparked some great discussions and conversations that led to talking about hope in Jesus.

I will never forget that morning and the emotions and turmoil I observed in others and in my own heart and mind.

Where were you and what is the significant memory of that morning?  Post a comment!  It may be therapeutic.

One Response to “9-11 Where were you?”

  1. For me, it was actually 9:00 PM. I was watching the movie ‘Center Stage’ with friends in Guangzhou China when an american neighbor told us to turn on the T.V. Everything was in Chinese but the picture was of tower 1 on fire. Confused, we thought maybe it was some strange movie. However, only a few minutes later, I watched live as the second tower was hit. In total confusion we called family in America to find out what was really happening. The station that we were watching was actually an English station, but because the news was so fresh they hadn’t been able to dubb the language to English. However, after several minutes they did, and were able to understand more clearly what was occuring at home. It was a surreal experience because we were not in the States at the time. It did however provide an open door for more intentional relationships and opportunities to share our faith with our Chinese Friends.
