What a weird last couple of Sundays! We were iced and snowed out on Sunday Dec. 26 & last week was the first Sunday of the New Year but with our unique school holiday schedule it didn’t feel very much like the first Sunday of the year.

Regardless, it was a great start to our new “RADICAL” series this past Sunday.

  • Following Jesus means abandoning the old for the new, the seen for the unseen.

Luke 9:23–25 (ESV)
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?

This week is a great week to think on two questions: Do you believe Jesus?  Will you obey Jesus?

It’s a matter of trust. Do you trust God to give you greater satisfaction, fulfillment and joy if you completely abandon yourself to Him?

RINGS!

An interesting thing showed up in our joy bucket this Sunday at Church at the Grove! Someone put a set of rings in the joy buckets.  It looks like a wedding set.  This is a first!  I don’t remember ever having someone donate jewelry in the offering.  If you are the person that donated the rings, we would like to speak with you if that is possible.  We are holding onto the rings just in case you may have a change of heart.  We are thankful and appreciative of your graciousness but want to make sure it is a decision you will not regret later.  Give us a call or send us an email.  We will keep it confidential.

2011!

I can’t wait to see what happens in 2011! Please consider being a part of an incredible, RADICAL move of God this year!
