What an awesome time of worship yesterday at Church at the Grove!  I love celebrating and participating in communion. I think we need to celebrate communion more often!

I shared yesterday about visiting with a lady in my neighborhood that was near stepping into eternity.  Well, yesterday she took that step.  Miss Judy passed away yesterday afternoon and as I went to visit with her family a few friends I couldn’t help but think of what we talked about yesterday at CATGrove; HEAVEN! Because of her faith in Jesus, Miss Judy is getting a close up and personal experience of Heaven right now!  It was so comforting and joyful, while it was sad, to be able to pray with her family and speak of the fact that she is in no more pain and she suffers no more.  She is in the presence of God! YES!

What a day we all have to look forward to if we have turn to follow Jesus, to be reunited with our family members and loved ones and friends.

I love reading Revelation 21:4.  It would be a great verse to memorize.

I spoke of two great concerns yesterday when we think of heaven:

Are you going?  Will you spend eternity in heaven?  Have you turned and trusted Jesus for forgiveness of your sins?

Secondly, who are you taking with you?  Are you investing in people for the purpose of sharing Jesus with them?  Let’s take some people with us to heaven!

Next Sunday is Halloween!

Next Sunday I hope you will be at Church at the Grove in the morning as we begin our new teaching series, “Economic Atheists” and look at what the Bible says about Economics and Finances.  It is going to be awesome!

Next Sunday night Jill and I will be doing a Halloween outreach in our neighborhood for the purpose of starting some conversations with people and inviting them to CATGrove!  Halloween is an incredible opportunity to love on your neighbors, hand out candy and simply spend some time meeting people you may have seen in the neighborhood but haven’t met yet.

We will put up one of those big blow up jumpy thingy in our yard for children and we will hand out candy, serve hot chocolate and maybe some popcorn and peanuts.  Basically we create an environment where the kids can play a few minutes in between trick or treat stops while we talk to mom and dad.

Let me encourage you to consider utilizing Halloween or any type of holiday event to leverage it for Jesus. Take advantage of the opportunity to meet people and invest in them relationally so you can invite them to CATGrove and hopefully share with them the love of Jesus.

I love you and I am praying for you and your family.

Keep praying, Keep investing, keep inviting!

I was able to get away with Jill and the kids to the big metropolis of Soperton, GA early this week to spend some time with Jill’s parents.  Jill’s dad was diagnosed this past year with cancer and received some “not so good” news recently and has been undergoing chemo treatments the last few weeks.

It is has been interesting to talk with Miss Janie and Mr. Ronnie about sickness, death and heaven.  When someone is faced with the potential of leaving life on this earth in the not so distant future, it is interesting to hear and understand their perspective.  Mr. Ronnie and Miss Janie light up when they talk about heaven!  They are saddened to think about not being here with family but they are ecstatic about being in heaven with their Lord and Savior Jesus!

I spent some time yesterday with a friend that has been suffering from cancer and may be stepping into eternity any day. We talked about how wonderful it will be to be free from all the pain and sickness and to be at complete peace with God in heaven.

This Sunday October 24 I will be concluding our “SEVEN” series on foundational doctrinal beliefs that are important for every follower of Jesus.  I will be concluding the series on the “future” and will focus on Heaven and what we have to look forward to in eternity. You don’t want to miss it!  This will be a perfect Sunday to invite someone to join you at Church at the Grove.

This past Sunday Gabe did an outstanding job of helping us understand the significance of redemption.  Gabe helped us understand that doctrine simply is the revelation of how things really are and doctrine reveals the things that are true reality. We looked at Ephesians 1:7 and learned that Redemption is “doing away with your morality, your good deeds and anything that connects us to God and makes us acceptable to Him outside of the redemption through his blood. Redemption means we were purchased by the blood of Jesus!

I am so excited about what God is doing at Church at the Grove and I am excited about the people that made decisions this past Sunday to embrace Jesus and not morality!

We have a lot going on these next several weeks leading up to the holidays and you don’t want to miss the opportunity to invite your friends and family members to get in on what God is doing.  I LOVE MY CHURCH!

Keep praying, Keep investing, Keep inviting!

I was challenged, I was convicted and I was motivated!

How can someone sit and listen to Aaron and Robin Bruski share about their call and ministry to Romania and not be willing to DO SOMETHING WITH THEIR LIFE?! How can we listen to people like the Bruskis and simply go on with life as normal.  We should be motivated to get involved, serve, share and invest into the lives of others!

Aaron shared from Luke 15:1-10. The Parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin.  We are all called to engage with lost people and join God in his mission to redeem the lost to Himself.

Aaron emphasized that:

  • Sometimes we need to leave something behind to find a lost soul.  What do you need to sacrifice and leave behind.
  • Sometimes we need to help the lost!  What can you do to serve people around you?
  • We need to give lost people the light!  What can you do to shine the light of the gospel to those around you? The light is the gospel!
  • We need to search for the lost!  What are you searching for?

Matthew 16:18 would be a great verse to memorize

Prayerfully consider your personal role in helping Church at the Grove be a “sending” church by partnering with local and global ministries.

I am hearing awesome things from our Community Groups.  I hope you will get involved in a Community Group and if you are involved, STAY CONNECTED with your group.

LAUNCH Class is November 14 on Sunday morning.  If you would like to grow stronger in your spiritual disciplines this is for you.  Maybe someone you know or someone in your family needs to grow in their walk with Jesus.

Please, Please, Please be faithful to areas where you have volunteered and committed to serve! If you have to miss a Sunday you are scheduled, please call and find a replacement or call someone and let them know you are not going to be there. When you aren’t there, it causes extra work on those serving and a guest may not be greeted or served in the manner that makes the difference.  We have the greatest servants in the world and I would put our servants up against anyone and any church.  I am so thankful for everyone who gives their time, effort and heart to help us reach people.  THANK YOU!

Keep Praying, Keep Investing, Keep Inviting!

What an incredible day at the Grove!  I can’t believe the crowd we had yesterday!  I can’t believe how many guests we had yesterday!  My hand is tired from writing notes to all of our guests!  I can’t believe how many children we had yesterday!

WOW!  Let’s say that upside down! MOM!

Jesus is the Lamb that takes away the sin of the World! (John 1:29)

Jesus came to seek and save the Lost! (Luke 19:10)

As I explained yesterday, for me the Trinity is best understood as:
God the Father is God FOR you.
God the Son (Jesus) is God WITH you.
God the Holy Spirit is God IN you.

God gave us the Holy Spirit to give us power to carry our HIS mission. (See above on seeking and saving the lost.)

God gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us, come along side us and lead us toward Christ’s likeness in our spiritual journey. (John 16:12-15)

This would be a great couple verses to think on and memorize this week:
Galatians 5:16–17 (ESV)
Walk by the Spirit
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

Don’t miss this coming Sunday! October 10 It will be 10-10-10!

We will have Aaron and Robin Bruski from Romania and “Belief in Motion” sharing with us about their ministry in Romania and how the church is called to be “Sent Out” to take the gospel to people who have never heard about Jesus.

You will love hearing from Aaron and Robin.  Bring someone with you.  Maybe you can invite one of your friends that you are investing in and praying for!

Keep praying!  keep investing, Keep inviting!
