This young lady’s story is amazing! Check out this testimony by Morgan. It is edited by Melissa Willet.

This past Wednesday, Nathan Boyd and I drove over to NorthStar Church at the invitation of their pastor Mike Linch to be with them for their staff leadership development.  They had Dr. Bill Purvis, Pastor of Cascade Hills Church in Colombus, GA.  He spoke to us about what it takes to be High Performance people.

High Performance people:

  • They want to be high performance people!  You have to have the “want to”.  What is my “want to”.
  • They have the attitude of High performance people!  Do what you are gifted to do.  Success is doing what you can, with what you have, where you are!
  • High Performance people execute!  They get the job done.
  • High performance people push to grow.  Listen, read, ask questions etc.
  • High Performance people can process volumes of information.  (We must cultivate the passion and discipline of reading and pass it on to our children.)
  • High Performance people bounce back after taking a hit!  (That is personally encouraging to me.)  Leaders are going to be accused and challenged.  Endurance and perseverance is key to lasting success.
  • High Performance People enjoy the fruit of their work.

What a week and what a day!

  • This has been a crazy and busier than normal week but today was an incredible Sunday!
  • One of our biggest crowds in a while!  Lots of guests and lots of children in the building.
  • Morgan McHugh’s “It’s Personal” testimony was awesome.  I am so proud of her.
  • Ric and Shelly did a great job leading worship.  The acoustic set was a great change of pace from the band.  We did miss Gabe, James and Mike playing with Ric but it was a sweet worship time.
  • I found some awesome running shoes yesterday and saved about $40 on a clearance deal!
  • Our new series “It’s Personal” is receiving RAVE reviews and there is a lot of excitement about what God is doing.
  • I hope you are making your decisions about what community group you are going to be a part of!
  • Caleb (my three year old) love being on the stage today (I am afraid he is a ham like his dad.) and he was a great help in teaching the sermon.
  • I am so thankful and so amazed at how many people we have volunteering in some way.  I love the heart of our people and their willingness to serve.
  • My amazement of a HUGE God that desires a personal relationship with me continues to grow.  “God so Loved…………”  That is AMAZING!

The weekend of August 16 & 17 we will host a time of training and equipping  for all of our Sunday morning volunteers and our Community Group leaders and Hosts.

We pray, we invest and we reach out to people with the hope of a personal relationship with Jesus.  We must be equipped to know how to love and respond to them as they come into the midst of our community of faith.

We will have training on Saturday morning August 16 and Sunday evening August 17.  You pick only one!  Saturday morning will include childcare and Sunday night will not include childcare.  Saturday morning is 9am-11:30am.  Sunday night is 5pm-7:30pm.

We would like as many people as possible to be a part of this weekend volunteer orientation!
